Abstract

Biodiversity is not only important for science! In fact, the loss of nature is a more serious challenge than climate change. The latter decides HOW we live, the first WHETHER we survive. And yet the decline of biodiversity has not yet received the necessary attention. It is more of a silent crisis, caused by agriculture, but not only, and spurred by unforeseeable cascading effects. The good news is: The trend can be reversed if we take action now.
